How much maternity leave did you get? (United States)

How much time did you get to take off of work when your little one was born? The company I work for is wonderful and gives you 12 weeks of paid leave. My supervisor also let me save my vacation so I could take it right before the baby was born. I think in all I had about 14 weeks off and it was all paid. We got really lucky with my husbands job because they gave him 6 weeks off. He took 2 weeks off when Drew was born and then another 4 weeks when I went baby to work. We were able to have one of us home with Drew for the first 3 1/2 months of his life. Not bad considering that we both work outside of the home.

I'm a SAHM so I'm still on maternity leave

I tried to go back to work after Luke was born 4 years ago but I only lasted 1 week. I just couldn't leave my little boy with someone else. You are really lucky though that you got 12 weeks off, you must work for a great company. Most everyone I know only gets about 6 weeks off.

I was really lucky to get 12 weeks off. I have heard though in Canada they get 1 year off! I'm not sure if that is paid time off or not but either way that would be awesome.

When I was working I got 6 weeks off. I quit my job though when Jordan was 6 months old. I just couldn't work anymore!
