Hello Newbie Here  (United States)
Hello All, My name is Stephanie I am a 35 year old Mom of 5 Wounderfull sons. Jonathan is 17, Matthew is 12, Brandon is 9, Dylan is 7, and my baby Nathaniel is 3. I have tried many times for a girl and as you can see no luck. I never had problems becoming pregnant, I have decided in the past year that it is time to figure out how to up my odds cause for some reason I have yet to conceive. All of my kids will be in school this year the youngest in Head start. I have no clue what I will do during the day with no one home,  I have been raising kids for 17 years and well I dont know anything else. So I will hope to be seeing my BFP soon. I hope to get to know you all, seems like a quiet board.

Hey Stephanie!  My name is Mindy.  I am TTC # 1, been at it for a few months now with no luck.  Each month I try to do something differently hoping that will bring me my BFP.  That is really cool that you have 5 boys!  How many people can say that?    I'll bet you are really wanting that girl though.  I have heard of some techniques to help you get one gender or the other, have you?  I'd be happy to share them with you if you want, just tell me and I'll post it.   I'll bet you are feeling the "empty nest" syndrome pretty bad since the youngest boy in Head Start, but I have a feeling it won't be for long and you'll get your BFP soon.  Can't wait to get to know you better!

Mindy

Welcome Stephanie!

I am Marcia, and I am a SAHM for my son Jordan.  I am TTC # 2.  It is always fun to meet new people on the boards, so I hope your TTC journey is short and sweet, but that you hang around so we get to know you better.  Hope you get baby #6 very soon!

Hello Mindy & Marcia.  I have been struggling the past year to conceive, I guess it is harder the older you get. I would love to know how to get me a girl.   But a healthy baby of either sex will be a blessing! I hope to see us all with a BFP soon!

Re: Hello Newbie Here  (United States)

Hey Steph!

Ok, this is what I've heard about getting either a boy or a girl.  It is all about timing intercourse.  There are basically "girl sperm" and "boy sperm."  The girl sperm swim slower but live longer.  The boy sperm swim faster, but die sooner.  So, if you want to conceive a girl, you want to BD 2 or 3 days before you ovulate, and if you want to conceive a boy, you want to BD the day before ovulation or the day of.  The logic is that if you have sex 2 or 3 days before ovulation, by the time you ovulate all the boy sperm will be dead leaving only the girl sperm, and hence, your girl.  Now if you're like me, and just wanting to be pregnant, I am BDing as much as possible regardless of timing.  But anyway, that is the technique.  I have heard it is scientifically proven and really works!

Now lets get our BFPs!!!!!
